When Devil Whispers

I asked for help from my spirit team,

circular thoughts of the past.

Rock and water stepped in.

We met on a childhood path,

a trail I’ve known since eight years old,

a slanting granite slope

together with a misty fog

and a shiny dew.

Wrassled me down,

pinned me to the ground.

Gravity broke my rib bones.

I whimpered “uncle.”

Pain and vulnerability opened the door to

wild energies

gushing torrents of tears,

floods dammed for years

a waterfall of ancestral patterns

rivulets of gentle sadness,

moaning out badness,

the rythmic dripping of grief,

snorting out snotty confusion,

clearing the passage

towards

innocent peace

and relief.

I asked for help from my spirit team

rock and water came through

An ocean gushed through the eyes

with waves

of

hiccups

and sighs

cleansing and

clearing all lies.

Releasing devil energy

hand-feeding sweet

bitter flavors -

whispering in my ear.

His soothing voice of old stories

sharing both good and bad tales

to keep me from feeling

the here and the now.

Stay in the past.

You know what it is.

Don’t venture out.

Keep living with doubt.

The devil kept showing me puzzles

with pieces that wouldn’t fit just right.

Sit down, stay a while

let’s figure it out

it’s fun

you know

the puzzle’s never done.

Let’s look for the piece

that makes it complete

so everything is calm, clear and makes sense.

He whispered some more

coaxed me galore.

I asked for help from my spirit team

rock and water reminded me how

to

own my power

my path

my will

my mission.

Puzzles with devil-energy

lead to lethargy

taking away angelic know-how.

ignoring him

brings me present

here and now.

I’m done trying to figure out puzzles.

I’m done trying to make it make sense.

I am done making

sense

out of

non

sense.

leave the word alone

let nonsense be that

let the non be the prefix

let it stay firmly attached.

let it be nonsensical

let it be unfixable

let it by hysterical

let it be lyrical

let it be delerical

let it be satirical

Let it be whatever it is

devil ranting and raving

calling and craving

all by itself in the forest

where no one hears

with

collapsed power fading

moaning and parading

around.

Walk away from the table

leave the puzzle undone.

It’s an old card table

coming undone.

Let the wind come through

knock it to the ground

scatter pieces around

and get nibbled

by birds, mice and a shrew.

I asked for help from my spirit team

rock and water reminded me how -

embody rock

stand tall in solid, wise rock power

love the rivets, edges and cracks

be quiet in your knowing.

embody water

swirl with its freedom,

mermaid somersaults with

currents and waves.

swim in emotions as needed

breath, move and float in infinite

consciousness, vibrating with the cosmos

tread in stillness when necessary, dive deep

and play with swirling blue waters

turtles, dolphins and whales.

Support one another

work to recover,

help others not suffer

take care of

earth mother.

I asked for help from my spirit team

rock and water gave me a

wump.

Rock and water gave me a rest.

Rock and water slowed me down.

Rock and water held my hand.

Leave the unfinished puzzle on the card table

rest dear one, rest on the land.

They knew what I needed

to rest so completely

ribs healed

heart mended

slow

refreshed

and

completely renewed.

Ask for help from your spirit team -

and allow them

to bring

what you need.

Just know it’s an initiation

a liberation

a re-creation of what it means

to be alive.

Walk away

when you’re ready

feel your roots

standing steady

sing a song

and find the strength to pass through.

I asked for help from my spirit team

rock and water came fully through

gave me

freedom to be

freedom to feel

freedom from structures

freedom from etiquette

freedom from seeking approval

freedom from behaving

freedom to start anew

freedom to leave the puzzle undone

freedom

to be my own number one.
