Love Prayer Song for Earth Mother “By the Ironwood Tree”
My name is Janet, and during a vision quest beneath an Ironwood tree in Kapaau, Big Island, Hawaii, April 2025, a healing song came through me — a prayer of love for the Earth, a call to remember and love our inner child first, to shed what is not good for us and an honoring of our collective mother. It was my third year spending four nights underneath her branches, with no food, no phone, books, music and plenty of water. This year, we wrote a prayer love song together on day three.
I am called to get as many to sing this song as possible right now. She needs to hear from us and singing helps us heal our and her wounds. The song comforts me, balancing me with news of the US government's interest in selling public land, opening up oil and gas exploration in oceans, defunding parks, rolling back on climate action policy, cutting off grants and further degrading the planet.
The song is called "By the Ironwood Tree." It’s simple, meditative. It flows with gentle verses and humming refrains, meant to open hearts and connect us to nature.
